  • HOW MEDICAL DEVICE COMPANIES CAN AVOID EU PARALLEL TRADE AND COMPETITION LAW PITFALLS: A PRIMER FOR EU REGULATORY LAWYERS

    Thursday 25th of January 11:45 - 12:30

Over a decade of experience in the antitrust/competition law arena in Brussels enable Gianni to help you find solutions to the most complex antitrust issues your pharma or medical device company face – globally, in Europe as well as in other regions such as the Middle East.

Gianni's practice focuses on all aspects of antitrust and competition law with a focus on the life sciences industry. Gianni offers a one-stop-shop antitrust/competition law advice for corporate transactions (your acquisition or joint venture may trigger foreign merger control filings around the world), cartel investigations (including litigation before the European or States courts), supply and distribution agreements (devising a strategy in case your company has a particular market strength which makes it subject to careful antitrust scrutiny) and pricing arrangements (recently quoted by the New York Times on the pharma excessive prices investigations)

Gianni follows the antitrust/competition law hurdles of your company with a global and multi-jurisdictional perspective. He is a lawyer admitted in New York, Brussels (E-list), and Italy (Avvocato), with degrees from Italy (Bologna, Law Degree), the U.S. (NYU School of Law, LL.M), Belgium (College of Europe, Bruges, Master of European Studies) and France (La Sorbonne, Exchange Program). He works regularly in English, French and Italian and sometimes in Spanish.

Gianni has a broad network of contacts in several jurisdictions in the public and private sector thanks to his role as Non-Governmental Advisor to the European Commission within the International Competition Network. In Brussels Gianni is also the founder of Antitrustitalia (an association of professionals working in antitrust including European Commission's officials, in-house lawyers, economists and private practitioners). Gianni is the General Editor of the "Journal of European Competition Law & Practice" at Oxford University Press.
