Marc H. M. Hermans graduated from medical school at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven – Belgium). He went into general practice for about 10 years. He’s past president of the Section of Psychiatry and vice president of the Union Européenne de Médecins Spécialistes. He was involved in numerous educational activities in Belgium and was a member of the Committee on Education within the European Psychiatric Association and the Operational Committee on Education of the World Psychiatric Association. His main fields of interest as reflected in publications and lectures at congresses are promoting high standards for psychiatric training and practice and psychotherapeutic approaches in psychiatric practice.
