Remke Burie is managing director of the Technical Medical (TechMed) Centre of the University of Twente, the Netherlands. The TechMed Centre aims to improve healthcare by technology. It impacts daily practice by its education & training programs, its research & development activities and the strong focus on innovation & collaboration. Its BSc & MSc programs Technical Medicine, Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences ensure that new talents are trained. Its research activities in the domains of medical physiology, bioengineering technologies, medical imaging & diagnostics, medical robotics and health & wellbeing technologies will provide new knowhow and new solutions for healthcare. The TechMed Centre has strong ties with both the medtech industry as healthcare providers.
Remke Burie is involved in the development of multiple new research & innovation projects. He is part of the management team of the European network of digital innovation hubs focusing on healthcare robotics (DIH-HERO) and member of the steering committee of MedFit. He is always looking for new opportunities for growth, driven by a continuous focus on enabling innovation in healthcare by technology.
