Isabelle TONGIO is Director of Public and Governmental Affairs at bioMérieux.
She has been with the company since 1992 and has held the positions of Head of Consolidation and Reporting, Head of Investor Relations and Advisor to the Chairman. She is also vice-chair of the diagnostic in vitro French professional association (SIDIV).
In her current role, she participates in many initiatives advocating for a better recognition of the medical and economic importance of diagnostics. She is part of many French governmental initiatives such as the CSF santé – French Strategic Health Committee. She is involved in the “IMI Value Dx project”, the first Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) project initiated by 6 in vitro diagnostic companies which join forces with 20 non-industry partners to build the medical and economic case for rapid diagnostics as a public good in the fight against antibiotic resistance. She coordinates bioMérieux representation at Medtech Europe as well as at ADVAMEDx. She is a Board member of the AMR Industry Alliance, one of the largest private sector coalitions, the objective of which being to provide sustainable solutions to curb antimicrobial resistance. She participates to the G5 santé Technical Committee, the leading French health industry think tank. She chairs the Audit Committee of Bioaster Technology Research Institute (TRI), thus contributing to the development of this unique technological and innovative model to support the latest challenges in microbiology.
